About The Position

Bunzl Safety is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our facility in Piperton, TN. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our warehouse operations. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and repairing facility systems and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining warehouse equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support uninterrupted operations. This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, forklifts, dock equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and other mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs safely and efficiently, and help ensure compliance with company safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance practices.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing devices.
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, equipment manuals, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience maintaining conveyors, powered industrial trucks, dock plates, and material handling equipment.
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience.
  • Forklift maintenance experience.
  • Technical certifications related to maintenance, electrical systems, or industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on warehouse equipment, conveyors, powered industrial equipment, and dock plates.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility systems.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine effective repair solutions.
  • Repair and replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Conduct forklift inspections and perform routine maintenance according to established checklists.
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, wiring, and related components.
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Operate welding or cutting equipment as needed to repair or fabricate components.
  • Test, inspect, and evaluate equipment to identify maintenance needs and prevent downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and operational maintenance needs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to support productivity and continuous improvement initiatives
