About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to construct and assemble new sand plants and perform comprehensive maintenance and repair on associated equipment. The role covers a range of work, including welding, mechanical repairs, electrical work, plumbing, hydraulic repairs, boiler maintenance, and air system servicing. The technician must follow technical specifications and safety regulations and help ensure equipment functions optimally.

The position also involves scheduled equipment inspections and submission of detailed inspection reports. Work must comply with Federal and State mining laws and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. The technician is expected to maintain clean, orderly work areas and may work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of welding and/or mechanical experience.
• Knowledge of using an arc welder and cutting torch.
• Ability to perform basic math and read a tape measure.
• Ability to safely rig and lift heavy objects.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of sheave and pulley alignment and conveyor belt tracking and alignment.
• Ability to work at heights and in hot and cold environments.
• Current driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Ability to lift objects and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Sand and/or aggregate plant experience.
• Knowledge of sand plant components, including conveyor belt repair, gear boxes, bearings, structural welding and repair, trunnions, baghouses, elevators, silos, loadout spouts, slurry and freshwater pumps, and wet and dry sand screens.
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as a skid steer, telehandler, track hoe, or backhoe.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical school program in diesel mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct and assemble new sand plants.
• Perform timely maintenance and repairs on equipment within sand plants.
• Carry out welding, mechanical repairs, electrical work, plumbing, hydraulic repairs, boiler maintenance, and air system servicing.
• Maintain feed, conveying, scrubber, shaker, classifying, discharge hopper, weigh, central mixer, load carrying, drive, water, air, electrical, crusher, hydraulic, recycling, structural, and other miscellaneous systems and equipment.
• Conduct equipment inspections according to the company’s Prescribed Inspection Schedule.
• Complete and submit detailed equipment inspection reports.
• Follow technical specifications, safety regulations, Federal and State mining laws, and Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
