About The Position

The Maintenance Tech I - 3rd Shift position at Apogee Architectural Metals is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with troubleshooting and repairs of production and facilities systems, and operating light to medium duty industrial equipment. This role requires a strong commitment to safety procedures, including lock out-tag out and confined space protocols. The technician will develop knowledge of equipment, procedures, and mechanical systems, and will be responsible for accurate documentation of work completed. The position is based in a manufacturing facility with potential exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust, and operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-10 years of experience in maintenance, including mechanic apprenticeship time
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Ability to follow blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance methods.

Responsibilities

  • Always follow safety procedures, including lock out-tag out and confined space.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubricating machinery, and replacing worn components.
  • Assist with the troubleshooting and repair of production and facilities systems.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, welding, light duty electrical and mechanical assembly.
  • Operation of light and medium duty industrial equipment.
  • Develop knowledge of equipment, procedures and mechanical systems.
  • Accurate documentation of work completed and related findings.
