About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor holds a pivotal role within the organization, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. Their primary objective is to ensure the smooth and cost-effective operation of the maintenance department, overseeing all aspects of its functionality.

Requirements

  • High school education or GED required.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including the ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet on a concrete floor for the entire shift.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and work well in a team environment.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating machinery.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate heavy materials and equipment.
  • Capacity to endure repetitive tasks and maintain focus for extended periods.
  • Ability to hear warning signals and communicate effectively in a noisy environment.
  • Clear vision is necessary to inspect materials and read gauges and instruments accurately.
  • Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during operations.
  • Capable of making quick decisions to optimize processes and minimize downtime.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands and work effectively under pressure.
  • Effective communication is essential for coordinating with team members and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Maintain orderly work areas and adhere to production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees communication with fellow supervisors to coordinate maintenance and repair tasks across process areas while prioritizing cost-effectiveness.
  • Supervises plant maintenance personnel, ensuring they are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to execute the maintenance program safely, promptly, and within budgetary constraints.
  • Develops, maintains, and updates operational and training standards for the maintenance department and its technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
  • Regularly monitors the operation of plant equipment and systems, proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize unplanned downtime and capitalize on opportunities for enhancement.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on maintenance shop equipment as necessary to uphold operational efficiency.
  • Establishes and manages tracking systems for work orders, spare parts, and equipment maintenance history to optimize maintenance processes and expenditures.
  • Initiates and oversees plant equipment projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing operational costs, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures within the maintenance department, actively enforcing safety protocols and reviewing safety records to maintain maximum safety standards for all maintenance technicians.
  • Tracks the utilization and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment, initiating reordering when necessary to maintain operational readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
