Maintenance Supervisor - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Atkore is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor based in Harvey, Illinois. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person supervises plant maintenance personnel in a union environment, with an emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance and responding professionally and urgently to plant operational needs. The role includes troubleshooting and repairing equipment and facility systems, analyzing maintenance and operational data, coordinating across plant departments, and supporting safety, training, continuous improvement, and Lean practices. The supervisor will lead a team of at least eight people, lead the shift preventive maintenance program, and drive initiatives to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Industrial electrical and electronics troubleshooting experience.
- Experience in machine maintenance repair.
- High school degree or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Four-year degree or technical degree.
- Experience in lean manufacturing or at a business system-based company.
Responsibilities
- Support and participate in continuous improvement of the company’s safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Administer and sustain Total Productive Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance practices throughout the plant.
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of equipment and the overall facility.
- Track and analyze data and implement changes to improve plant operations and solve maintenance-related problems.
- Manage and update operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
- Ensure employees receive up-to-date training in accordance with OSHA and company guidelines.
- Coordinate activities with all plant departments.
- Maintain productivity through management of a computerized maintenance management system.
- Participate in Lean Daily Manufacturing and 5S activities and promote the plant Lean culture.
- Ensure the team honors Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.
- Within six months, be responsible for at least an eight-person team, assist with troubleshooting, and help prioritize work.
- Within twelve months, lead initiatives and projects with planner and engineering assistance to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Lead the preventive maintenance program on the shift.
- Lead the team in safety, quality, delivery, and cost initiatives.
