About The Position

Horizon House, Inc. is a nationally recognized provider of services to adults with support needs due to developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, and substance abuse. Horizon House is Pennsylvania’s oldest psychiatric rehabilitation agency. Since 1952, we have been dedicated to helping people with mental illness, drug and alcohol addictions, developmental/intellectual disabilities, and homelessness to stabilize their lives and to help them live as independently as possible in the community. With over 100 locations throughout South and North Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, Horizon House provides services to a diverse population, focusing on individual strength and choice. Currently, we are seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to work in our Real Estate Division who has experience in the field and will be able to assist us in keeping our properties in good condition.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 8 years of experience in residential and/or commercial maintenance and construction; as well as 3 years of supervisory experience; or any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.
  • Thorough knowledge of, and working experience with, residential and light commercial electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC (including boilers), and general building repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction specifications, blueprints, shop drawings, and writing schematics.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with varying priorities.
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good organizational and anticipatory skills with good follow-up are necessary.
  • Must own or have daily access to an extensive tool crib.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Must own or have daily access to a van, truck, or utility vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • To oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Field Maintenance team.
  • To maintain productivity levels and quality of workmanship.
  • To inspect and evaluate work to ensure that all routine, ongoing, and preventative maintenance is being performed according to Agency policy, currently accepted building standards, and all applicable building codes.
