About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist ensures that facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained for people receiving rehabilitation services for brain injuries and other neurological conditions. The position is part of the Facilities team and receives support from the facility leadership team and the Facilities Manager at the Ankeny facility. The primary work location is the Ankeny campus, with occasional travel to other local campuses, including Polk City and Des Moines.

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, Monday through Friday on a day shift. Start and end times are flexible between 6:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The role has on-call responsibilities, but no scheduled weekend or holiday hours. Starting pay is $19 per hour for minimal experience. Annual raises depend on budget capacity, and a discretionary anniversary bonus may be available.

Responsibilities

• Oversee indoor, outdoor, and vehicle maintenance tasks.
• Participate in and/or oversee the facility safety program, including SDS, the safety committee, and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure the facility complies with state and federal regulations at all times.
• Assist with surveys and plans of correction as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with people at all levels, maintain positive relationships, and lead by example.
