The Maintenance Shop Supervisor reports to the Team Leader at the PDK Service Center and is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations across multiple aircraft maintenance teams. This role provides direct leadership to Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chiefs, ensuring all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The supervisor serves as the primary point of contact between leadership and the shop floor, driving operational excellence and team performance.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate has 8+ years of aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • Relevant military aircraft maintenance experience accepted
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft maintenance best practices
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong understanding of aircraft systems including airframes, engines, hydraulics, and electrical components
  • Ability to diagnose and support resolution of complex mechanical and electrical issues
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Comfortable working on ladders, stairs, and in confined spaces
  • Proficiency with hand tools, specialized test equipment, and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support Aircraft Maintenance Crew Chiefs and Technicians across all levels
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations, including planning, scheduling, and shop load management
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, Repair Station Manual requirements, and company procedures
  • Review and approve work orders, maintenance logs, and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor operational performance to ensure maintenance goals, deadlines, and quality standards are met
  • Facilitate communication between technicians, Crew Chiefs, and leadership to ensure alignment and issue resolution
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action initiatives as required
  • Support training and development of maintenance personnel
  • Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance processes, workflow, and resource utilization
  • Ensure proper use, control, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and facilities
  • Track shop load and support effective scheduling and resource allocation
  • Support workforce planning by identifying staffing needs and making recommendations to leadership
  • Authorize overtime as necessary to meet operational demands
  • Support performance management processes, including conducting performance reviews
  • Adhere to the Repair Station Manual and all applicable regulatory standards
  • Promote company policies and a collaborative team environment
  • Fill Crew Chief slots as required – Perform annuals/etc. during vacations or Crew Chief absence.
  • Fill AOG slots as required – Perform AOG events during vacations or AOG absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
