About The Position

The Mechanical Maintenance Shift Supervisor oversees Maintenance and Maintenance Support Technicians who install, troubleshoot, repair, and test ACP equipment and facilities. The role supervises maintenance of mechanical systems, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls, as well as activities including painting, carpentry, sheet metal work, and machining. The position requires obtaining and maintaining a Q security clearance.

Requirements

Associate of Science in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent technical experience, together with a high school diploma or GED; alternatively, successful completion of the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Within the past eight years, three years of plant maintenance experience in the chemical, nuclear, power generation, or pharmaceutical industries, or experience in the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.

Responsibilities

Assign, schedule, and instruct personnel performing maintenance on equipment-monitoring and data-collection equipment, centrifuges, and supporting systems according to approved procedures.
Prepare weekly technician work schedules, ensure qualified personnel are available for assigned work, and approve hours worked.
Monitor assigned work areas for procedural compliance and direct maintenance activities using approved procedures, work instructions, or test plans.
Instruct employees in safety, environmental, quality assurance, and security-related matters.
Account for materials, parts, and supplies under the supervisor’s jurisdiction.
Close out and review work orders.
Review drawings and procedures to ensure electrical guidelines are followed.
Assist technicians with troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
Enforce and follow company policies, procedures, code of conduct, and security, environmental, and safety program requirements.
