About The Position

Western Camps, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Room Technician responsible for maintaining guest rooms and meeting spaces in safe, clean, and fully operational condition. This role performs repairs and preventive maintenance across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general facilities maintenance in a resort and camp environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in general maintenance, construction, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting
  • Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance processes
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in HVAC, maintenance technology, or related field
  • Experience in hospitality, resort, or facilities maintenance
  • Experience with finish carpentry or handyman work

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining carpets, molding & closets, electrical systems, drywall & paint, heating & A/C units, furniture, bathrooms, beds & fixtures, and windows & screens.
  • Report major repair needs or safety concerns to supervisor promptly.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and company vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition.
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Return tools and equipment to proper storage daily.
  • Assist other departments as needed to support operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to prevent equipment or facility failures.
  • Support upkeep of building interiors, exteriors, and HVAC systems.
