About The Position

The Marriott on the Falls is a 404 guestroom full service hotel, located near natural wonders, attractions, wineries, golf, and casinos. It features on-site dining, and over 40,000 square feet of meeting space, including a large ballroom. The hotel's mission is to exceed guest expectations. The Front Office operations are driven by Associates who embody Marriott's core values. This role requires a team-oriented individual with strong analytical and technical skills.

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of working experience in a Guest Services capacity with Front Office with a world-renowned large Hotel Brand.
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel, and Business Administration or related major.
  • Excellent customer service skills: demonstrates self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work under pressure. Requires attention to detail.
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate – both oral and written, when dealing with guests and employees both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, co-operatively within a team setting and as well as the ability to plan and multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Must maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanour.
  • Must be computer literate – proficient in word and excel.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays due the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in managing the daily room inventory, room blocks and reservations to maximum room revenue and efficiencies based on arrivals and departures patterns and special requests.
  • Reviewing status of arrivals, departures, and changes and pre-blocked Marriott Bonvoy Elite Members to ensure a seamless check in experience.
  • Ability to balance inventory three days out.
  • Liaise with departments such as Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Events, Sales and Revenue Management regarding the distribution and status of guest rooms – i.e. managing the out of order and out of service room’s inventory by checking status on a daily basis.
  • Overseeing the blocking of VIP arrivals and showrooms in co-ordination with Housekeeping Department.
  • Confirming reservations and cancellations in Marsha.
  • Use property's computer to enter and track required data into systems. Runs daily and periodic reports.
  • Follow up with guests promptly to ensure their requests or concerns have been met to their satisfaction.
  • Performing job of Guest Service Agent during off the season or as needed basis.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
