About The Position

In this Maintenance Repairman 2 role, you will be part of a facilities management team that supports the Department of Revenue’s offices and operations. Your work will help improve workspaces for staff and keep buildings and equipment functioning safely across the state. This position provides maintenance and repair support throughout the Department, with a focus on installing modular furniture and partitions. Work relies on your knowledge of building, mechanical, and electrical trades and how to complete assignments efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.

Requirements

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
• Must possess a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment due to access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and compliance with IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075). This includes satisfactory criminal history reports, fingerprint-based federal records check, PA State Police clearance, check of local law enforcement agencies where you have lived, worked, and/or attended school within the last five (5) years, and citizenship/residency verification.

Responsibilities

• Function as a lead worker, interpret and work from floorplans or sketches, use a computer, and determine work methods and procedures needed
• Reconfigure, relocate, and install Donn walls, modular workstations, partitions, and office furniture
• Perform assignments involving carpentry, small electrical repairs, emergency plumbing, and preventive maintenance on motorized equipment
• Maintain lists, locations, and records of keys, supplies, tools, and furniture and cubicle parts
• Use and maintain shop and warehouse tools, equipment, and machinery
• Drive throughout the state to complete duties, pick up materials, and make deliveries at field office locations
