Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Able to perform essential job functions
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
  • Information to support your eligibility for the position must be provided on the application (i.e., relevant, detailed experience/education)
  • If claiming education, must attach a copy of college transcripts

Responsibilities

  • Repair pipes, fixtures, valves, traps, drains, pumps, and heating equipment
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain lighting, wiring, motors, and other electrical systems
  • Remodel walls, ceilings, and floors and build items such as scaffolding, cabinets, and shelving
  • Prepare surfaces, mix paint, and apply finishes to interior and exterior areas
  • Operate hand and power tools safely while completing repairs and maintenance
  • Follow safety procedures, maintain clean work areas, and participate in asbestos abatement as required
