About The Position

The Maintenance Repairman 1 position with the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) allows you to assist in ensuring that the Shikellamy State Park Complex is well maintained and ready for visitors. This role lets you work across many different trades while supporting overall park operations. You will tackle hands-on tasks that help protect park facilities and natural spaces. This position supports park operations by performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections across multiple facilities and systems.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

• Repair buildings, restrooms, and park structures using basic carpentry, plumbing, and masonry skills
• Operate tractors, lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other machinery for grounds and facility work
• Assist with inspections, debris removal, and minor repairs at the Adam T. Bower Memorial Dam
• Install, remove, and maintain docks, watercraft equipment, and marina systems
• Clear trails, remove litter, maintain landscaping, and perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal
• Provide information to visitors and share park rules when needed
