About The Position

Responsible for performing general repairs and maintenance services throughout the district. This role involves working with construction materials, using various hand and power tools, and collaborating with other crafts for renovations. The position requires meticulous record-keeping of materials used and work orders, as well as reporting any repair and maintenance issues to a supervisor. The job also includes performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 to 3 years of work experience
• Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., hammer, shovel, screwdriver)
• Proficiency with power tools (e.g., radial saw, reciprocating saw, drill, pneumatic hammer)
• Experience operating vehicles (e.g., automobile, truck, tractor, forklift)
• Ability to carry and/or lift 45 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

• May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs general repairs as needed throughout the school district and support facilities.
• Uses materials, equipment and all hand tools required to complete assigned duties proficiently and safely.
• May work with other crafts to complete repairs needed in regards to general renovations.
• Works with construction materials as needed for general repairs.
• Keeps daily records of materials used and fills out work orders assigned for the day; detects and reports repair and maintenance problems to supervisor.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
