About The Position

Special Metals Corporation is looking for an experienced mechanical maintenance repairer for our Dunkirk Facility. Candidate must have the ability to perform the technical duties of the millwright and welding crafts. Knowledge of hydraulic systems is desirable. Duties will include maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems, overhead cranes, gas furnaces, refractory, and mechanical drive systems. GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and arc gouging skills are necessary. A High School diploma is required. PRIMARY FUNCTION To inspect, repair, and maintain all plant equipment, including furnaces, presses, and all related equipment inside and outside the plant. Includes Carpenter, Electrician, Millright, and Welder craft skills.

Requirements

• Ability to perform the technical duties of the millwright and welding crafts.
• GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and arc gouging skills are necessary.
• High School diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain all plant equipment, including furnaces, presses, and all related equipment inside and outside the plant.
• Perform technical duties of the millwright and welding crafts.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, overhead cranes, gas furnaces, refractory, and mechanical drive systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment.
• Fabricate fixtures for plant equipment, working from prints or sketches, using various measuring devices, arc or gas welding equipment, power and hand tools.
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant electrical systems, using proper electrical testing instruments, schematics, etc.
• Install, or aid in installation of new equipment or re-location of present equipment as required.
• Advise supervision of problem areas developed during Preventive Maintenance checks.
• Determine and advise supervisors of material requirements for jobs.
