About The Position
The University of Louisiana Monroe is seeking a Maintenance Repairer 2 to join their team. This role performs general repairs to ensure campus facilities are in working order and operational. Requirements
- Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.
Responsibilities
- Make general repairs to the interior and exterior of campus buildings.
- Unstop drain pans and drain lines on fan coil units.
- Repair or replace thermostats.
- Perform routine maintenance and general repairs on a variety of motorized equipment.
- Tasks may include tune-ups, replacing or adjusting worn or damaged parts (such as generators, alternators, starters, pumps, belts, and pads), and limited disassembly of major components to assess needed repairs.
- Clean and maintain equipment such as chiller coils to keep systems operating efficiently.
- Make basic repairs to appliances, including part replacement and adjustments.
- Safely start, operate, and inspect equipment to ensure proper function and identify maintenance needs.
