About The Position

Oshkosh AeroTech is hiring a Machine Repair Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair PLC-controlled conveyor and baggage systems at Dulles International Airport. The role combines mechanical and electrical work with attention to detail and operation of various equipment to support efficient airport operations. The technician works in a fast-paced environment, collaborates with team members, and contributes to safety and operational excellence. The work takes place around airport ramp operations, aircraft, heavy equipment, and baggage conveyor systems. The technician may work in outside weather conditions and confined areas, and the environment includes vehicular traffic, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, vibration, and loud noise. The position requires physical activity including standing, walking, climbing, ladder work, and regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain the necessary security clearance.
Availability to work first or second shift, including weekends and holidays.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and in confined baggage conveyor areas.
Ability to perform the listed physical duties, including standing, sitting, walking, handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, and ladder work.
Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; good hand-eye coordination is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with 480V and three-phase motors.
At least one year of experience in maintenance operations.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair skills.
Familiarity with airport operations.
Intermediate understanding of PLC control systems.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, project management tools, and CMMS software.

Responsibilities

Maintain PLC-controlled baggage and conveyor systems to support smooth airport operations.
Service and repair PLC-driven conveyor and baggage systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
Record detailed maintenance data in the CMMS.
Operate forklifts, golf carts, and company vehicles.
Respond to maintenance calls and assist with clearing baggage jams.
Comply with the company safety program and attend required trainings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
