About The Position

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join its Reliability Engineering team at the Turquoise Ridge Underground operation. The role analyzes equipment and performance to assess reliability, maintainability, and availability, and contributes to a safe, sustainable, and collaborative working environment. The successful candidate will identify reliability opportunities, investigate failures, implement improvements, and support maintenance teams and vendors in improving equipment performance.

Requirements

• Demonstrated safety leadership capability for self and team.
• Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, such as mechanical, electrical, industrial, or mining engineering.
• Three years of practical industry experience, such as in reliability, manufacturing, mining, or power plants.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project.

Nice To Haves

• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of reliability and improvement concepts, including RCA, FMEA, RCM, and LEAN.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and condition-monitoring techniques such as oil and vibration analysis, thermography, and/or ultrasonic emissions.
• Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL).

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to identify defects in an underground mine and prioritize reliability improvement opportunities using reliability databases and information from various sources.
• Demonstrate visible felt leadership while interacting with team members and representing salaried staff in support of NGM core values.
• Demonstrate teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills in the site maintenance environment.
• Implement operational and maintenance alternatives to achieve cost savings and manage forecasted and budgeted expenditures.
• Statistically analyze equipment and performance to assess reliability, maintainability, and availability.
• Conduct root cause analysis on major failures and develop solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop Nevada Gold Mines maintenance procedures, standards, and specifications that support a reliability culture.
• Build productive partnerships with key vendors and OEMs to improve equipment.
• Maintain and validate downtime-reporting databases and KPIs.
• Identify, scope, and evaluate reliability improvement projects.
• Use the maintenance operating system, including S4-HANA and SAP, to record and report maintenance activity as part of a continuous-improvement strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement in the maintenance division and help sustain the improvement culture.
• Drive condition-monitoring initiatives and monitor equipment performance and health.
• Collaborate with Fixed and Mobile Maintenance teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
