About The Position
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Maintenance Supervisor at its Cortez operations. The supervisor ensures that planned maintenance for the truck and support fleet is completed safely and efficiently. The role tracks maintenance across surface mining equipment, oversees direct reports' performance and safety, and supports safe work practices and continuous improvement. Working a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of the position.
Requirements
- Five years of experience maintaining large, open-pit mobile equipment in a planned maintenance environment.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to cross-train in Maintenance Planning.
- Ability to work effectively with maintenance technicians and other site personnel.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of experience in a maintenance supervisory or lead role, demonstrating increasing responsibility.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, Oracle, and dispatch systems.
Responsibilities
- Ensure planned maintenance activities for the truck and support fleet are properly executed safely and efficiently.
- Track maintenance on a fleet of surface mining equipment.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and monitor and track safety performance and hours for direct reports.
- Conduct pre-shift worksite inspections and monthly Planned General Inspections (PGIs).
- Enter properly down-coded information into the Mining Dispatch System.
- Participate in conducting and reviewing Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs), document incidents in RIMS, and maintain quality control procedures.
- Promote a safe working environment and encourage crew members to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide support to operations as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
