About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance PM Tech - 1st Shift (Weekend Shift) to join our team at our Cayce, SC bakery. As a Maintenance PM Tech - 1st Shift (Weekend Shift), you will be accountable for maintaining and repairing production and facility systems to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical role in minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment overhauls, and technical support across bakery operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and a minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in instrumentation, controls, electronics, mechanical, or electrical systems; OR 6 years of related industrial maintenance experience in lieu of a diploma.
  • Experience in at least three of the following areas: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, or food manufacturing process controls.
  • Knowledge of equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and control system diagrams and documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work assignments.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including maintenance management systems and email communication.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting and programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Prior food manufacturing or bakery industry experience.
  • Experience with building automation systems, fire protection systems, and material-handling equipment.
  • Experience fabricating and installing mechanical or electronic components.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or other industrial equipment operating experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment to maximize operational uptime.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, equipment overhauls, and system improvements to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Install and maintain control systems, instrumentation, and automated production equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and provide technical support to resolve production and operational challenges.
  • Operate maintenance tools, lifts, and material-handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work order documentation within maintenance management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
