Requirements

  • Must regularly sit, stand and walk.
  • Requires frequent use of a computer.
  • Must occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently works in high, precarious places.
  • Frequently exposed to extreme cold (-10F in some freezers) and extreme heat (over 110F).
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Spend keyboarding and analyzing information on a computer.
  • Ability to prepare sketches or insert digital pictures into the planning document.
  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two year college or technical school or two years or more of related experience and/or training required.
  • Must have basic mechanical/electrical/mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules based on preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability strategies, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities, including corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
  • Allocate resources such as labor, materials, and equipment necessary to execute maintenance plans effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor work order backlog and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to record maintenance activities, track equipment history, and generate reports.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, evaluate performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory management to ensure availability of spare parts and materials required for maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams to resolve complex issues and improve maintenance practices.
  • Participate in regular meetings and communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on maintenance schedules, progress, and challenges.
  • Assures that safe work practices and company policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Engineering & Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager.
