About The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Planner to be a part of the Maintenance team based in Charlotte, NC. This position directly reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager and does not supervise others. The role involves preparing, scheduling, and maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance programs for equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation. This includes ownership of the PM schedule, developing and controlling work orders, managing maintenance records in the CMMS, and providing technical support. The Maintenance Planner will also assist in ordering parts, coordinating contractors, supporting improvement projects, participating in safety processes, and managing fleet maintenance services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in manufacturing equipment repair or parts
  • Planning experience for maintenance activities
  • Organizational skills
  • Experience with Information analysis
  • Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing experience
  • Proficient with MS Office and CMMS software
  • Experience as a project team member, contributing to successful project execution through leadership, collaboration, and delivery of key objectives
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record required
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and facility maintenance
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the maintenance Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule for all production and facility equipment.
  • Develops, schedules, and controls preventive and reactive work orders to maintain machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Manage maintenance records in the following areas/systems, but not limited to: Electronic records of all PMs, Work order history in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Contractor documentation for safety inspections and PMs
  • Ownership of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as an expert user
  • Regular requirement to interpret and manipulate data within CMMS, including asset registers, PM task lists, backlog data, and KPI reports
  • Provide technical support (problem solving, etc.) to the Maintenance group when needed.
  • Assist in locating and ordering parts and materials for maintenance work
  • Coordinate activities of key third party contractors who perform regular maintenance work in the plant
  • Support improvement projects aligned with the plant strategy, ensuring successful implementation and measurable business results
  • Participate in plant safety processes. Supports compliance with site procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal standards
  • Ensure planning processes effectively incorporate safety, permit, and risk management requirements to support safe and compliant execution of work
  • Support the key projects of the engineers. Works with engineering and reliability functions to embed lessons learned, equipment history, and failure trends into job plans and PMs
  • Manage and track all scheduled and required fleet maintenance services (PMs, oil changes, DOT inspections, state inspections, etc.)
  • Maintain valid driver's license and safe driving record
