The Manufacturing Planner is responsible for implementing, monitoring, measuring and reporting production schedules to ensure that materials and capacities are available to meet the needs of customers. This role involves managing planning and production execution data, including work orders, prioritization, capacity constraints, and production monitoring. The planner will implement an effective capacity management and production monitoring system, maintain MRP planning and scheduling parameters for 'make' items, and analyze planned order reports to provide timely release of production work orders. Key interactions include interfacing with production teams and procurement specialists to prioritize items, identifying and resolving production demand and supply imbalances, and providing daily guidance to the Product Line team on production schedule status. The role also requires preparing and communicating shortage and backlog reports, monitoring production progress, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement (waste reduction, lead time shortening, cost reduction), and reporting scheduling, capacity, and production tracking data according to the Master Schedule policy. The Manufacturing Planner will utilize the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement.
