The Maintenance Technician is responsible for plant maintenance and support of the equipment throughout the plant and completing maintenance planning duties. Working in partnership with the Maintenance Manager, they keep the plant and its primary electrical and mechanical systems running while scheduling maintenance repairs, preventative maintenance, and contractor work. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing food safety and food quality, as well as environmental safety in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Works in partnership with the Maintenance Manager to schedule, plan, and perform basic maintenance and repairs on conveyors, packaging equipment, production equipment, electrical controls systems and other related plant systems. In the absence of Maintenance Manager, planner schedules all PM orders, processes SAP transactions, controls and manages all parts, attends daily meetings. Records and documents according to procedures, assuring that all equipment documentation is up to date and accurate. Performs data entry into Computer Maintenance Management System (SAP) to assign and schedule maintenance work to Maintenance Technicians. Prepares unscheduled work orders to support production requirements.
