About The Position

Carteret Management Corporation is hiring Maintenance Personnel to perform routine building maintenance at a newer apartment community in downtown Jacksonville. The full-time position includes a competitive salary and benefits, including more than four weeks of paid time off per year (holiday and PTO), health plans with low monthly premiums, free short- and long-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) with a company-paid match. The role is responsible for helping maintain resident satisfaction and meeting the community’s safety, appearance, and operational standards. Duties include hands-on maintenance and repairs, apartment turnovers, and occasional availability for after-hours emergency calls. The position works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.

Requirements

Excellent customer service skills.
Prior maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC.
Ability to multitask with keen attention to detail.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools, including hammers, screwdrivers, handheld drills, and circular saws.
Ability to perform general janitorial duties.
Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with on-site staff, vendors, and residents.

Responsibilities

Work to ensure the highest level of resident satisfaction.
Maintain the community’s safety, appearance, and operational standards under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs involving HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, exterior structures, appliances, and cleaning.
Turn over apartments, including cleaning, painting, carpet shampooing, and other repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Occasionally be available for after-hours emergency calls.
