With over 20,000 employees and offices across the United States, Turner Industries is a leading industrial contractor. This position is for nested long-term maintenance in the Pasadena, TX area. The role involves troubleshooting, overhauling, and installing rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, electric motors, fans, and blowers. Previous maintenance experience is required.
Requirements
- 4 years minimum work experience as a Millwright.
- Previous maintenance experience is required.
- Must have OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87).
- Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place.
Nice To Haves
- Well-rounded, Safety-minded.
- NCCER preferred.
- Experience working on extruders, pumps, and poly cylindrical strand cutters is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with single stage steam turbine maintenance is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Dismantles machines.
- Moves machinery and equipment.
- Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers.
- Aligns machines and equipment using the reverse alignment method.
- Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
- May operate an engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
- May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
- May be involved in grouting activity for equipment base plates.
- Troubleshoots, overhauls, and installs rotating equipment, especially ANSI and API centrifugal pumps.
- Performs thorough recordkeeping, including recording as-found and as-left clearances after a seal replacement or pump rebuild job.
