About The Position

Martin Marietta is seeking a safety-conscious, dependable, and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain plant industrial equipment and machinery safely and efficiently. The role includes maintaining stationary machinery, mobile equipment, and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, shakers, pumps, and gearboxes. It is also responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of aggregate plant processing equipment and mobile equipment.

The position is based at Doswell Quarry in Doswell, Virginia, and works Monday through Thursday from 4:00 PM to 4:00 AM.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with the position.
• One year of experience in welding and maintenance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in welding and maintenance in the mining industry.
• Welding certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform fabrication, welding, cutting, greasing, housekeeping, and other shop or processing duties.
• Maximize equipment performance by completing repairs and timely preventative maintenance.
• Perform simple and intermediate diagnosis and repairs without constant supervision.
• Use electrical and pressure testing equipment within company guidelines and safety standards.
• Complete required paperwork to maintain equipment and operate the plant according to Martin Marietta Materials standards.
• Erect processing equipment and repair processing and mobile equipment.
• Conduct MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and the work area.
• Safely operate other equipment, such as loaders and haul trucks, as needed.
• Assist with training co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
