About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic’s primary focus is painting and maintaining the appearance, safety, and overall condition of the facility. The role includes interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, drywall and minor wall repairs, and general maintenance tasks. The position supports a safe and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff at Our Lady of Consolation, a 345-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center providing long-term, post-acute, and skilled nursing services.

Requirements

• High school equivalent.
• Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, drywall repair, and finishing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in commercial or institutional painting and general maintenance is preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, or long-term care environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, patch, sand, prime, and paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other facility surfaces.
• Repair drywall, plaster, and minor wall damage before painting.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Inspect facility areas for cosmetic and maintenance needs and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain painting equipment, tools, and supplies, including proper storage and cleanup.
• Follow safety procedures, infection control protocols, and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with general maintenance duties, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and preventative maintenance as needed.
