About The Position
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) in a per-diem capacity at Larkin Community Hospital supports the mental health care team by providing direct patient care and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. The role works closely with patients experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions, assists with daily activities, monitors patient behavior, and reports changes to clinical staff.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by the hospital.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Crisis and Intervention Training.
- Pass the in-house MHT test.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health facility.
- Additional certifications related to mental health care or crisis intervention.
- Bilingual language skills relevant to the patient population served.
Responsibilities
