About The Position

TekniPlex Healthcare is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic for its Maintenance Department in City of Industry, California. The position works the third shift, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., and pays $32–$38 per hour plus a 10% shift differential.

The role ensures the operation of mechanical and basic electrical systems for extrusion process equipment and facility-related equipment through troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Work is performed using engineered drawings, operation manuals, and OEM specifications. The mechanic may also take a project lead role as required and participates in plant safety and housekeeping audits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or a combination of work experience and education.
• Ability to make routine decisions and report or communicate malfunctions to management.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and similar documents.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or license in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, welding, or general construction.
• Motor controls experience.
• Electrical experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze equipment malfunctions and determine their causes using mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical skills.
• Troubleshoot the secondary plant electrical distribution system, including switchgear, breaker panels, wiring and buses, junction boxes, switches, and outlets.
• Calibrate and adjust plant instrumentation.
• Perform minor instrument repairs.
• Apply preventive maintenance practices and maintain accurate records.
• Process work orders using a computerized maintenance system.
• Take an active project lead role as required.
• Perform all duties of a Mechanic I.
• Participate in plant safety and housekeeping audits.
