About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general maintenance of machines, equipment, and facilities associated with the Packaging Department at NIBCO’s Greensboro location. The role is hourly and works a 12-hour A3 shift, reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator. The mechanic troubleshoots, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on packaging equipment, while working safely and coordinating with production to maximize throughput.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical and pneumatic knowledge.
• Some electrical knowledge desired.
• Experience with PLC, analog, and digital programming.
• Attention to detail, teamwork and cooperation, problem solving, ownership of equipment, self-motivation, and strong initiative.
• Basic electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and computer skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more.

• Automation experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties safely, follow safety guidelines, and proactively participate in plant safety.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components of packaging machines, including tape machines, sticker equipment, packaging stations, and bin doors or flaps.
• Perform preventive maintenance on packaging equipment.
• Use a fall-arrest system when working at heights greater than 4 feet.
• Communicate and cooperate with production to maximize throughput.
• Maintain good housekeeping.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
