About The Position

The Facility Maintenance/Mechanic 2 works under limited supervision and performs routine repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment. The role handles moderately complex issues using knowledge of relevant procedures and policies, refers more complex issues to higher-level staff, and may provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to a subordinate group. The position is based at Elks Rehab in Boise, Idaho, and follows a rotating schedule.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of relevant experience.
Valid driver's license; the role is subject to St. Luke's driving policy and requires maintaining a current valid license.
Must not have certain driving-related offenses within the previous three years, including license suspension, driving under the influence, or reckless or negligent driving.

Responsibilities

Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.
Troubleshoot and address basic repairs and maintenance.
Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs and maintenance as needed.
Maintain and apply applicable codes, standards, rules, and regulations in assigned maintenance activities.
Record maintenance and repair work performed and associated costs.
May remove infectious waste and perform light carpentry duties.
Follow safety practices and procedures and comply with applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations, and requirements.
Dispose of materials according to regulations.
Coordinate third-party vendor support and collaborate with interdisciplinary departments.
Use drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for a variety of equipment.
May provide leadership, coaching, or mentoring to a subordinate group.
Refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
