About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll play a key role in keeping our production equipment operating safely and efficiently. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and respond to equipment issues to minimize downtime. You'll inspect, test, and service a variety of manufacturing equipment while helping drive safety, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the plant. This onsite opportunity is based at our Mars, PA manufacturing facility, supporting 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM), with overtime opportunities available. We offer a competitive pay range of $30.00–$32.00 per hour, plus a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years’ mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment required (food industry is highly preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent Interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Time Management and Organization; Ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities
  • Experience with troubleshooting bottling, filling equipment and gantry palletizers
  • Experience with using CMMS (MaintainX) and documenting emergency and planned work and good communication skills
  • Must be able to properly use multimeter and read schematics

Responsibilities

  • Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervision
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
  • Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner
  • Perform general electrical repairs including wire connections, relays, photo-eyes, solenoids, working with 120v-480v, diagnose and wire up motors and troubleshoot variable speed drives. Must be able to properly use multimeter and read schematics
  • Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspections
  • Modify, repair, install and troubleshoot various conveyor systems including but not limited to roller, belt, intralox, gravity, chain plate type
  • Diagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot and replace various pump types
  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
  • Setup, takedown, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment
  • Frequently modify packaging & process equipment for new products
  • Provide solutions to routine or unique equipment problems.
  • Experience with general shop tools and fabrication including use of grinders, saws, presses, lathes and mills
  • Lifting, twisting, carrying up to 45 lbs. is a requirement of the position
  • Working in non-temperature and temperature-controlled environments
  • Possibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location
  • Be able to wear full face respirator as necessary
  • Must be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations
