About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic - 1st Shift. The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair activities on building facilities and equipment with a high degree of independence. This role involves executing assigned tasks, developing and following detailed instructions, and supporting the training and knowledge transfer of other technicians. Key responsibilities include managing and prioritizing preventive maintenance activities related to site operations, including mechanical and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. The technician is expected to troubleshoot equipment issues, oversee maintenance-related projects, and coordinate outsourced work as necessary. Additional duties involve performing basic electrical work and ensuring the accurate completion and maintenance of work order documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five (5) years industrial/facilities maintenance experience and knowledge.
  • Minimum of 1 year working with electromechanical systems

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience through and accredited apprenticeship program
  • Military mechanical repair training experience or equivalent is acceptable experience
  • Firm knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electromechanical systems.
  • Experience working with Prima and Strippit precision cutting machines
  • Familiarity with computer maintenance management systems

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctioning machines, equipment, and small tools/parts
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation. Makes necessary adjustments or repairs
  • Performs building maintenance, such as painting, and carpentry as needed
  • Support the maintenance of the in-house wastewater treatment system
  • Operates various industrial vehicles used in material/machine moving
  • Assists in installation and relocation involving machines and equipment as needed
  • Performs simple electrical maintenance activities and suggest outsourcing for more complex problems
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
  • Suggest and maintain standard work practices for maintenance department
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area, adheres to all facility environmental, health & safety guidelines, encourages communication and participates with co-workers to further identify, reduce and eliminate potential hazards.
  • Performs other related tasks and assignments, as necessary
