About The Position

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic [Tech] A is responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, repair, and operating condition of all manufacturing equipment, in compliance with all OSHA and company safety policies. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have operating knowledge of powered industrial vehicles, including Forklift, and Aerial lift.
  • Experience with OSHA regulations, including Lock-out/Tag-out, Authorized LOTO, Electrical safe workplace required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installation and moving of manufacturing equipment
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining preventative maintenance schedule for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance on equipment and is responsible for repair of manufacturing equipment. Assist outside repair technicians.
  • Complete daily machine inspections and communicate with operators on a daily basis about maintenance issues Assure proper operating condition of manufacturing equipment, including all safety functions of equipment.
  • Occasionally assists with facilities upkeep and repair.
  • Adheres to all OSHA and company policies and procedures, including Authorized LOTO procedures. Recognizes and reports unsafe work areas or conditions when discovered. Lead by example when working safe.
  • Communicates with managers, team members, and outside vendors and technicians to assure operating condition of equipment.
  • Work well with other employees and maintain a positive attitude when discussing a break down with other employees or when given work assignments. Demonstrate teamwork towards fellow employees and management.
  • Communicate issues on equipment to the maintenance Manager, Supervisor, or lead.
  • Monitor safety, quality, and efficiency of work using metrics to measure.
  • Performs routine housekeeping activities in the department, and the shop.
  • Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Federal, State, and local standards and regulations.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding safety and standards of workplace behavior, in completing job duties and assignments
