About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic III at Columbia Sportswear’s Portland Distribution Center, you will help keep operations running smoothly by maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment, with a focus on conveyor and sorter systems. The role also supports motors, lighting, plumbing, and other warehouse and office equipment.

This position is scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 9:50 PM to 6:20 AM, with a $1.50 per hour shift differential. It includes routine and preventive maintenance, maintenance recordkeeping, and facility-related work. Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience maintaining warehouse equipment.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and emergency procedures.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the facility.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Adaptability and comfort working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Effective collaboration and communication across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage time and workload efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse and office equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, racking, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities.
• Complete tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager safely and in a timely manner.
• Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and other facility-related tasks.
• Foster open, positive communication across departments to support smooth operations.
