About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic III at Columbia Sportswear’s Portland Distribution Center maintains and repairs a variety of equipment and facility systems, with a focus on conveyor and sorter systems. The role helps keep distribution operations running smoothly by maintaining equipment such as motors, lighting, plumbing, and warehouse systems. The position is located at 7000 N Leadbetter Rd, Portland, OR 97203, and works the graveyard shift Sunday through Thursday, 9:50 PM to 6:20 AM, with a $1.50-per-hour shift differential.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience maintaining warehouse equipment.
• Understanding of safety protocols, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and emergency procedures.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the facility.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage time and workload efficiently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse and office equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, racking, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities.
• Complete tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager safely and in a timely manner.
• Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and other facility-related tasks.
• Lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
• Communicate positively and openly across departments to support smooth operations.
