About The Position

As a Maintenance Mechanic III at Columbia Sportswear's Portland Distribution Center, you will help keep operations running smoothly by maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment, with a focus on conveyor and sorter systems. The role includes ensuring equipment and facility systems—from motors to lighting and plumbing—are in good condition. The position is based at 7000 N Leadbetter Rd, Portland, Oregon. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM, and Monday and Tuesday, 5:50 AM–2:20 PM. The posting specifies a $1.50-per-hour shift differential.

Requirements

5–7 years of experience maintaining warehouse equipment.
Solid understanding of safety protocols, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and emergency procedures.
Intermediate computer skills.
Physical ability to climb ladders, stand for long periods, and move freely throughout the facility.
Proficiency with hand and power tools and strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventive maintenance on warehouse and office equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, racking, lighting, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities.
Complete tasks assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager safely and in a timely manner.
Occasionally perform light janitorial duties and other facility-related tasks.
Lift and carry up to 40 pounds regularly.
Foster open, positive communication across departments to support smooth operations.
