About The Position

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Maintenance Mechanic will direct all activities regarding all technical work involving installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment. This is a 1st Shift Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM. As needed, there will be work hours required outside the Standard Shift Schedule. The starting hourly pay rate is $26.07, with opportunities for step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience in related field, or qualified progression from Mechanic II.
  • Must be able to use tire changing equipment and tools.
  • Must have knowledge of diesel and gas engines and transmissions.
  • Must know how to work and diagnosis hydraulic systems.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot DC voltages.
  • Read and write clearly.
  • Basic shop math. Multiplication, division, decimals to fractions, fractions to decimals.

Nice To Haves

  • Four+ years’ experience as an Industrial Mechanic.
  • Four+ years’ experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • PC literate (PLC software, Windows, etc.).
  • Be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment, Forklift, straddle trucks, shag trucks, golf carts, and company vehicles.
  • Performs skilled trouble shooting and servicing of pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Performs proper replacement and/or adjustment of mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.
  • Repair of worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures (welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications).
  • Troubleshoots electrical circuits, 12-48 volt DC.
  • Changes and repairs multiple tire sizes and styles.
  • Assists junior personnel and operators in proper direction of equipment repairs.
  • Performs major and general repairs on all equipment.
  • Records labor and material used on each repair made.
  • Takes proper care and use of test equipment.
  • Properly uses lift equipment (cranes, booms, man lifts, cherry picker, etc.).
  • Exercises communication skills pertaining to the job.
  • Occasionally called during irregular hours to handle production coverage with little or no supervision.
  • Reports all abnormal conditions and safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Performs housekeeping and other routine tasks as directed.
  • Works safely and follows safe working practices, including Lockout/Tag Out procedures and other safety procedures.
  • Performs lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, stretching, stooping, and working in awkward and/or confined positions.
  • Works in a team environment.
  • Maintains appropriate professional competencies, certifications, licenses, etc., necessary to perform job.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Makes management aware of any training needs.
  • Consults management immediately if asked to perform work for which they are not trained and/or are not comfortable doing because of potential safety or risk implications.
