About The Position

Responsible for maintaining all equipment and facilities to allow products to be manufactured and shipped in a timely manner to customers. Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for the upkeep of buildings and grounds; the repair and maintenance of production equipment and machinery; modifications to the structure; and layout of the facilities. Exercise of judgment, discretion, and tact in all business matters and business relationships is required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain clear and cooperative working relationships with co-workers and demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The organization’s leadership promotes collaborative problem solving in both formal and informal work teams. Participation in and contribution to teamwork within the organization is required. Necessary interpersonal skills include being a self-starter, motivated, creative, flexible, self-confident, deadline oriented and able to multi-task. Employees must follow all quality and safety procedures of the company, including those at customer sites if applicable, and must abide by the corporate Code of Conduct in all situations.

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with state-of-the-art maintenance methodologies as they pertain to manufacturing, machine-shop facilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with coworkers.
  • Able to work overtime (weekdays / Saturdays) as required.
  • Must have good organizational and time-management skills in order to stay focused on completing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with others in the department to learn specific knowledge of processes, and/or procedures in order to continuously make improvements.
  • Because of the need to support Manufacturing and total plant facilities, a class C driver’s license must be maintained.
  • Any combination of education and training, equivalent to graduation from High School (or equivalent) that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
  • Minimum of 24-36-months experience in a manufacturing environment; with additional 6-months experience in related Facilities-Maintenance.
  • Uses little, or no, independent discretion; receives direction or supervision on prioritization of all assignments.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced shop, with quickly changing work priorities, and with minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment, repairs equipment that is down, or installs new equipment.
  • Performs work on facilities such as repairing plumbing, new lighting, help painting and minor structural repairs etc.
  • Support interdepartmental personnel by assisting on maintenance issues.
