About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team. This role involves monitoring, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on the components of the central utilities plant, including boilers, generators, HVAC equipment, and incinerators. The position also includes assisting with other building systems and components, and supporting the affiliate's compliance with environment of care management plans.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or related vocational training is required
  • Two years facilities maintenance required
  • Valid state driver’s license and must be insurable to operate hospital vehicles is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Three years stationary engineer experience preferred.
  • Power Plant Operating Engineer – Second Class License is recommended
  • HVAC Certification is preferred.
  • For positions covered under collective bargaining agreement, completion of hospital approved training program and minimum of four years at the Mechanic I level will be considered in lieu of license/certification.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on the components of the central utilities plant, including but not limited to, steam/heating/domestic hot water boilers; generators; heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment; and incinerator (as applicable).
  • Assists with work on other building systems and components.
  • Assists the affiliate's with compliance of the environment of care management plans.
