About The Position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs maintenance work throughout the plant in order to repair production machines, fabricate parts, and rebuild equipment. Diagnoses and troubleshoots equipment problems. Dismantles, repairs and reassembles complex equipment. Operates production equipment to check work, as required. Cleans and lubricates equipment. As needed, performs work in other areas such as building maintenance which includes but is not limited to: landscaping, snow removal, parking lot, sidewalks, traffic signs, monument sign, roof, roof screen, office, HVAC equipment, exterior windows, precast panels and other equipment installed on the exterior of the building. Maintains and repairs office areas and assists with janitorial work as needed, including but not limited to: cleaning, office waste, recycling removal, lavatory and lunchroom supplies and installation. Assists General Manager and Bloomingdale Engineering team in installation of new equipment. Works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches. Completes routine paperwork as required. Initiates purchase order request forms for parts and supplies. Complies with safety and GMP requirements. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when you see a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan. Requirements

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or two to five years related experience and/or training (electrical, machine shop, machine troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, lock-out/tag-out, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • General knowledge of electric, welding and machine shop required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Nice To Haves

  • Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
