About The Position

This vacancy is with the Department of Transportation, Highways Division. A continuous recruitment may be closed at any time. Independently performs skilled mechanical repair work in the adjustment, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of machinery and equipment such as water pumps, mechanical laundry equipment, and continuing work assignments in accordance with diagrams. Other duties include the inspection, repair and conducting preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment in tunnels and on tunnels approaches, to conduct and report on structural inspections of tunnels, and viaducts, reading operating manuals, while following the manufacturer's specifications, basic trade practices, and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • THREE (3) YEARS of work experience in performing the mechanical repair and maintenance of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
