About The Position

RBCI is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (HVAC) to provide the Navy Medical Readiness Logistics Command (NMRLC) that would be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems to ensure safe and efficient operation in support of facility and warehouse environments. This work is onsite at the Williamsburg, VA office. 5%-10% travel may be required. This position is contingent upon contract award. (Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an HVAC mechanic, with demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and servicing a wide range of HVAC systems and components.
  • A valid EPA Section 608 Technician Certification for the recovery of refrigerants and one of the following HVAC certifications, from the following North American Technician Excellence (NATE) or HVAC Excellence or Certified HVAC Designer (CHD) is required.
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing and servicing a wide range of HVAC/R systems, including electrical, mechanical, and control components.
  • Shall possess a strong understanding of HVAC system design, airflow principles, refrigerant systems, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Shall be proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, drawings, and regulatory documentation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems in support of facility and warehouse operations.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system malfunctions within HVAC/R systems using appropriate diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC equipment, including air handling units, rooftop units, split systems, refrigeration systems, ductwork, and associated components to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of HVAC system design, airflow dynamics, temperature control, and system balancing to maintain proper environmental conditions.
  • Ensure all HVAC maintenance and repair activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including correct refrigerant recovery, handling, and documentation practices.
  • Utilize technical drawings, manuals, schematics, and regulatory guidance to perform work in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and refrigerant recovery documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate with facility personnel and maintenance team members to plan and execute scheduled maintenance and respond to HVAC service requests.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and best practices related to HVAC systems, electrical work, and environmental compliance.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management in support of facility maintenance operations.
