About The Position

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic B primarily assists with installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of production equipment within the facility. The role works with plant systems, equipment, tools, and maintenance work requests while helping maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Basic understanding of brakes and clutches.
• Basic understanding of working with plumbing, plastic, copper, and/or black iron.
• Basic understanding of welding and fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Basic understanding of machining skills, including lathe, milling, hand tools, and grinders.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry.
• Ability to perform stick, MIG, and TIG welding.
• Ability to work with a team using an organized and methodical approach.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of mechanic experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Formal technical training.
• Experience in a metals industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing, tearing down, and repairing problems or equipment on plant systems.
• Work from drawings, plans, or sketches to fabricate equipment, fixtures, devices, and other items as required.
• Use test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls, hand and power tools, and material handling equipment.
• Assist in maintaining the workflow of maintenance work requests.
• Track work order progress and work to close work requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facility.
• Operate lifting devices as trained by Materion Safety.
