About The Position

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic B primarily assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of production equipment within the facility. The listed hourly pay range is $27.30–$39.30; the final offer depends on the candidate's individual merits and the company's compensation policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Basic understanding of brakes and clutches.
• Basic understanding of work involving plumbing, plastic, copper, and/or black iron.
• Basic understanding of welding and fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Basic machining skills, including use of a lathe, milling equipment, hand tools, and grinders.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry.
• Ability to perform stick, MIG, and TIG welding.
• Ability to work with a team using an organized and methodical approach.

Nice To Haves

• One or more years of mechanic experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Formal technical training.
• Experience in a metals industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing, dismantling, and repairing problems or equipment on plant systems.
• Work from drawings, plans, or sketches to fabricate equipment, fixtures, and devices as required.
• Use test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls, hand and power tools, and material handling equipment.
• Help maintain the workflow of maintenance work requests.
• Track work-order progress and work to close requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facility.
• Operate lifting devices after receiving training from Materion.
