About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic B performs routine to intermediate mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment under general supervision. The role supports preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, and production operations while complying with safety, quality, and cGMP requirements in a manufacturing environment. The position is at Nellson’s Anaheim, California location, with listed first-shift hours of 4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and second-shift hours of 2:30 p.m.–1:00 a.m. The mechanic also assists with equipment installations, adjustments, and minor modifications; participates in root cause analysis and continuous improvement; supports audits and inspections; and performs other related duties as assigned. The work takes place in a manufacturing and maintenance setting with exposure to machinery, moving parts, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, conveyors, motors, and production equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and troubleshoot basic issues.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Willingness to learn.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive motions; may need to lift or move equipment or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must comply with safety rules, PPE requirements, and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

Technical or vocational training preferred.
1–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and intermediate mechanical maintenance and repairs on production and packaging equipment.
Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing corrective actions.
Execute preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and work instructions.
Support senior mechanics with complex repairs and equipment overhauls.
Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and logs accurately.
Follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and cGMP standards.
Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, and minor modifications.
Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support audits, inspections, and regulatory activities as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
