About The Position

Surfside Laundry in Foley, Alabama is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, safety, and reliability of our commercial laundry equipment and facility systems. This position plays a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly by reducing equipment downtime, supporting production needs, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring our facility operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, highly organized, safety-minded, and comfortable leading maintenance efforts in a fast-paced commercial laundry environment.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance management or maintenance leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in a commercial laundry, manufacturing, hospitality, industrial, or production environment strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, motors, pumps, belts, bearings, and industrial equipment
  • Experience with commercial laundry equipment preferred
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and specifications
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to prioritize urgent repairs while staying on top of preventative maintenance
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills with management, vendors, and production staff
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking, reporting, scheduling, and inventory
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance operations for a busy commercial laundry facility
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, folders, conveyors, pumps, motors, belts, bearings, and related systems
  • Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and urgent maintenance issues
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Maintain accurate repair logs, maintenance records, inspection reports, and parts inventory
  • Order parts, tools, supplies, and materials as needed
  • Coordinate outside vendors, contractors, and service providers
  • Work closely with management and production teams to schedule repairs with minimal disruption
  • Monitor and maintain facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, water, gas, and related utility systems
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, efficiency, safety, and workflow
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control, equipment replacement recommendations, and facility improvement projects
  • Keep maintenance areas, tools, and workspaces clean, organized, and safe
  • Provide hands-on support for repairs, installations, and emergency maintenance needs
