About The Position

The Maintenance Manager supports the daily operations of the Engineering Department and ensures the newly remodeled hotel’s facilities, equipment, and building systems are maintained to the highest Hilton standards. This role provides hands‑on technical services independently, and ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Maintenance Manager plays a key role in maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for guests and employees at the Home2 Suites by Hilton Queensbury-Lake George.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of engineering or maintenance experience in a hotel or commercial building environment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with building management systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills, be able to accomplish may tasks on own.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring timely completion of work orders, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  • Perform hands‑on maintenance tasks including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain building systems such as boilers, chillers, fire safety systems, elevators, and mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces to identify maintenance needs.
  • Ensure all equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently, escalating issues as needed.
  • Assign and prioritize daily tasks with preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor performance via self checklists.
  • Ensure self compliance with hotel policies, management guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Enforce OSHA, Health Department and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection records, and compliance documentation.
  • Pool; preventative maintenance in rooms and public areas.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including power outages, leaks, equipment failures, and guest-impacting issues.
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests with urgency and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
  • Support hotel events and operational needs requiring engineering assistance.
